Jeff Spivey made a video of highlights from my recent visit to Coventry Public Schools in Coventry, Ct. It was a super fun day!  Check out some of the highlights of the day here!

LittleBrown recorded a Book Chat with me about my illustration process creating the artwork for the award-winning NOTHING STOPPED SOPHIE, written by Cheryl Bardoe. I talk about how I was a failed math student, the challenges of illustrating a book about a mathematician, and how through creating the artwork for this book I found a love and excitement of mathematics! Listen in and discover the connection between art and the beauty of math! Check out “Book Chat with the Illustrator: Barbara McClintock” from LB School on Vimeo.

I had so much fun talking and drawing for a group of kindergartners and first graders at the Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art. See all the fun here in this video of my presentation created by videographer Kate Geis!

More lovely praise for NOTHING STOPPED SOPHIE, from none other than the wonderful Julie Danielson. Here's her review for Kirkus, and her blog post about SOPHIE on SEVEN IMPOSSIBLE THINGS BEFORE BREAKFAST. Thank you, Julie!

Betsy Bird gives a fantastic review of NOTHING STOPPED SOPHIE: THE STORY OF UNSHAKABLE MATHEMATICIAN SOPHIE GERMAIN. And… there’s a video of me talking about how and why I chose the drawings I created to illustrate Cheryl Bardoe’s text, and the whole process of making the artwork for the book. It’s a very fun video, I promise!

Here’s an amazing review, written by the amazing Betsy Bird, of my spring 2018 book NOTHING STOPPED SOPHIE. It knocked my socks off and brought me to tears ( in a good tears way! )
Pub date June 12th 2018 - stay tuned!

Here’s a beautiful review of THE FIVE FORMS by Sammy Juliano on his blog Wonders in the Dark.

EMMA AND JULIA also made an appearance at 7 Impossible Things Before Breakfast, again with the amazing Julie Danielson

I had a lot of fun reading EMMA AND JULIA LOVE BALLET on KidLIt TV's READ OUT LOUD!

I also made an appearance on KidLit TV StoryMakers and chatted with Rocco Stano about EMMA AND JULIA LOVE BALLET and LOST AND FOUND/ADELE & SIMON IN CHINA.

And - the KidLit TV team has created a video to get kids involved by asking a very important question: Where should Adele and Simon go next?

My author collaborator on many books, Jim Aylesworth, has a wonderful website. He includes lots of information about our books ( THE GINGERBREAD MAN, THE MITTEN, GOLDILOCKS AND THE THREE BEARS, OUR ABE LINCOLN, THE TALE OF TRICKY FOX, and AUNT PITTY PATTY'S PIGGY ) as well as super downloadable teacher lesson plans relating to each title. Jim was a 1st grade teacher for 20 years, and has put that background to good use!

Hear Steve Inski talk with Nancy Pearl about Adele & Simon on NPR; there is also a review, and a look at illustrations in the book.

For a fabulous blog featuring readers' reviews, Goodreads is tops.

Seven Impossible Things Before Breakfast is an impossibly terrific blog with interviews of authors and illustrators of children's books.

The Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) is an organization for authors and illustrators, both professional, and those who are looking to break into the field of children's books. I highly recommend this organization to anyone starting out in the biz.

The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art - one of my favorite places on the planet!

The Radical Middle Newsletter has an article featuring three of my books. Very thoughtful and thought provoking.

Books of Wonder - independent children's bookstore extraordinaire.

Macmillan's page about ADELE & SIMON IN AMERICA - nice!
